That storm friday night kinda came upon us, with no warning. My older daughter called to see if we were ok, just as I was going to get in the shelter. Never dreamed that an F2 had touched down,, and was on the ground for over 10minutes, moving right in the field behind her house. Blake , our grandson, came flying out of the den , telling his mom a shed just flew past the window. When I was over there sunday, I could not believe the damage. Daughter only had her fences blown down, but her neighbors on both sides of her, lost parts of roofs, trees uprooted and missing, brick torn off the house on her right side. Much more damage to the farmer behind her, part of his house was blown away.......many more blocks took a big hit...daughter, had a trampoline and a slip and slide on her front lawn, and roof of her house..............I felt bad, because I thought both she and our other daughter were safe. In 1999, same thing happened there, the sirens didn't go off. There was a delay of exactly 15 minutes. Both times 99' and friday, was too late to take cover. It is a wonder no one was killed. Serveral injured, but with no warning, our Lord was certainly watching over them. SAM Marilyn you and Sam, watch them storms seems you are getting a lot of tornado's out your way. They seem to be coming closer to our area this year. We had one "Hugo" several years ago but that is the only one in our area that I know about. Does that ever sound familiar. I am not the oldest. My sister that came down is 25 months older, then an older brother almost 5 years older. I am the one in the middle, then I have a younger sister and brother...................My oldest sister is the one that never, never wanted to do anything, and she always got away with it when we were growing up. I use to do my brothers work, and he would pay me to do the yards, or whatever dad told him to do.........He didn't like work either..................my younger sister is just like I am. Never stops.....she and I use to go to moms all the time, and do her house and yards, when both mom and dad just couldn't do it any longer. My older sister would always show up just as we were leaving, and the next day, like you, the house was a mess again....................never understood that, but don't try to anymore. I am happy we did for mom and dad, and would do it all over again, if they were still with us..................but, like you, not going to help if my sister can help herself................I think she is aging, because she isn't that active. I told her when she was down here, she needed to get up and move. She said her leg hurt, her back hurt, she was dizzy, she had a headache.....................I told her it was probably the 5 hour car ride getting down here, and she REALLY NEEDED to get her circulation moving. She wouldn't even take a walk around the grounds, said the hills were too high.........Hmmm? I only have a huge hill on the side, and hadn't planned on taking her up there. I do worry about her, as I don't think Physically , she is doing that hot. I did talk her into having a physical. As of last tuesday, she was going to call her Dr. Haven't heard back yet. She was the one that cried the loudest , when mom and dad passed..................... Sam Sam, I wonder if that comes from being the oldest, I have a baby sister that is the same way. My middle sister and I would set days and go out and Spring clean my mom's house every year. The daughter next to me was in Pa. and just come home to visit each year. Baby sister said you all are crazy working your a-- off for nothing. Mom was like Larry with the bone on bone in both knees and couldn't hardly get around. So a week after we had cleaned you couldn't tell it hardly, but at least it started off clean. Mom didn't like house work but outside work she was in heaven. milked cows, chickens, worked the garden when she was able. hard worker before knees gave out. But this daughter taught she was owed something and didn't do anything. The one that cried the hardest and cause all the stink when mom died. I'm with you I will HELP anyone but sure as heck not going to do it and them sit back. Run inside every few minutes to grab a load of clothes and put them on the line. Here I sit in the middle of the yard clipping away when up pulls this big white truck. Lady gets out and asks are you aunt Sallie's daughter? It was a first cousin I hadn't seen in about 40 years with her nephew whom I hadn't seen since he was tiny!!!! Sure was glad to see her we had a nice little visit in the middle of the road. Several members of her family had passed away and she didn't know, including my mom. THEN, about 12 grandson informed me he had to leave for work in an hour. Fixed his lunch, packed his dinner then got a call daughters well had gone out. So left everything and Larry and I took off up there to help with that. They got that fixed so I pulled weeds around her flower beds while she took baby for it's shots. Sam, This was back in about the '80 homosexual wasn't as strong then as now. So you can image two country hicks in the city for the first time. LOL We got our room and just as we were unlocking the door the phone was ringing Larry got in first and answered. The guy was watching from somewhere. He said I just saw you move in and wanted to see if you wanted some action. well larry was floored for a minute he sputtered then replied Sir I'm with my wife. scared the heck out of both of us. barred the door that night left first thing that morning. so funny thinking about it NOW. Milly, I bet it is pretty. daughter has a rose on her right ankle. My grandbabies have pulled my dangle earrings until the holes cover the ear lobe. LOL streached them so far I'm thinking of letting them grow up and repierceing. Granddaughter has a tatto (forget what) with her son's name tattoed right in her crack AND wears these low slung jeans. She got a call for a job with a lawyers office her other grandmother told her get that ring out of the tounge and cover your crack or you don't stand a chance. She got the job thanks to mawmaw. Dot Jo I have one rose tattoo above my right ankle. It's very pretty. I do have 5 holes in my ears. I usually wear a dangle earring and 4 diamonds. Milly WARD Piros Everyday above ground is a good day. **************Dell Days of Deals! June 15-24 - A New Deal Everyday! Me too Shirley and I have grand kids with their tongues pierced...Yuck is right. If I ever go into a restaurant and a waiter comes over with a ring in their nose and eyebrow I will ask for another or leave. I can't stand to see the eyebrows pierced...I cringe. My two granddaughters have their noses pierced but wear real tiny stones. Those I can handle.. Milly WARD Piros Everyday above ground is a good day. **************Dell Days of Deals!
