He said he lived in California. Someone named James Dowell with the same email address and ID number is posting material on the genealogy.com Dowell surname list, as late as July 2003. But James always signed his name James E. Dowell. James E. Dowell has not posted since September 2002. I don't know what to make of it. Perhaps someone has taken over for James E. and is helping people as before using James E.'s database. -- Alice
