Fern, I did some further checking, and I find a Lorenzo DOWELL that was a BROTHER to William Harrison DOWELL. This Lorenzo was b. 22 Nov 1822 and mar. Minerva ADKISSON. I have both of these DOWELL boys were sons of George Washington DOWELL [1788-1842] and Mary Ann "Polly" WIMP [1794-1877]. Are we talking about the same Lorenzo? Shirley, you and my husband HAVE to be connected some way [you are naming some of the same surnames], and you and I may be connected as well [DOOLEY]! Shirley has found a copy of SISTLER Census for 1850.  In the Meade County section, she found: DOWELL, Thomas S. 29, Nancy 19.
