Hi, I am a new subscriber to the list, and am searching for the burial site and probate records for William Harrison DOWELL to Nancy DOWELL. There were said to have been married in Meade Co., KY on 8 Oct 1835 [need marriage license] and he is said to have died on 21 Aug 1892 in Meade Co. Nancy is said to have died on 9 Apr 1905... assuming Meade Co., but have no documentation on any of these dates or events. William Harrison DOWELL was the son of George W. DOWELL and Mary Ann "Polly" WIMP, and Nancy was the dau. of James BOARD DOWELL and Barbara SHACKLETT. Would appreciate any help in locating any documentation that I need. Thanks! This is the first confirmation that any of the Dowells in the digest were connected to our Dowells. George Wayne Dowell is confusing to trace because of the following reasons He is found as George Dowell and as Wayne Dowell and then finally as George W. Dowell with the right statistics to connect the three names together. Now as to wives, He had several wives. One wife he married two different times. First marriage to her produced Albert Harrison Dowell, second marriage to her 18 years later produced Herbert Dowell. He apparently never married. Albert Harrison Dowell is my husbands grandfather. My husband is Albert Claus Dowell and his father is Jason Leroy Dowell. My husband has been bogged down tracing this lineage. He got most of his info from Ohio census and some from Mich. census. Anxious to hear from you George W. Dowell or George Wayne Dowells father was Jasper and his mother was either Luticia or Lucretia. It was different in different censuses. Betty L. We don't have a Jasper DOWELL in our gedcom file. There was a George W. DOWELL [b. 1838], son of William Harrison DOWELL and Nancy DOWELL.. What years are we looking at? Lanita A new cousin a day, keeps the boredom away!
