Alice, I see where my husband has entered in a S. BURNIS, wondering if that is the same one, and he misread the L for an S.. sounds like that may be the case. Thanks for the info and correction, and the email address.. Do you have a copy of Wm. H. and Nancy's marriage license or bond? Would be curious as to the correct middle name?? Not questioning you, just need the sources for the documentation. I just feel better about having some solid evidence when [and sometime it will happen, it always does] our info is questioned! Regarding James E Dowell, About 20 or so years ago, I met with Jim in KC, and he shared all of Dowell info (several hundred pages) with me, which I still have. He believed that there were at least 4 different Dowell lineages in this country (which meant he was unable to connect them with each other). According to SSDI, I found the following, altho not sure if him, but strongly suppect it. The birth date agrees with what he gave me.
