I agree that we may well be related as the families you mention, and the names you mentioned have circumstantially tied these people together. Also, I have found many connections indicating Dowells' association with Sniders/snyder/Schnider.s and Sandidge/Sandridge. I have some newspaper articles and information related to a William Dowell who was a minister in the area where Margaret/Margret died.He married into the family that paid for her funeral.(Bargers's). I will dig them up and post some of the information. Or if I find something related to your Dowell info I would send a picture of it if you want to give me your email address. I have collected quite a bit of info on George Dowell's family in Indiana, also. Need to dig it out. In the meantime I have entered information from a book (and I will post it today) related to the Sandidge/Dowell connections. Would love to help anyone untie a knot! He lived in 1810 in Kentucky but by 1815 was in Jackson Co Tn where he lived until 1851 when he died.. My John Dowells line is closely intermarried into the Terry family. One researcher also has my John with a son named George in Kentucky who married Polly Tomberlin and moved to Indiana or Illinois. I have never found anything to document a son named George for him. However, his line has the same names - R! ub! en Hickman, George Martin, America, so it is very very confusing. Good luck. Margaret states she was born in Virginia. After many years I have a lot of information related to the descendants, but little to pinpoint John and Margret's parents.
