I have lots of information on the Dowells in NC. This line came from MD right after the Revolution. Robert's wife Ella is listed in the 1920 and 1930 censuses as being born in 1889 or 1890 in NC. I can't find an Ella Wynns who are the right age. There are a couple in Martin County---one of whom is adopted; but they are a few years younger if the censuses are to be believed.
