Hi Dana, I don't belong to the line of Dowells who descended from Nehemiah. However, there are several regulars at the Dowell Family History site at MyFamily.com who claim descent from a Nehemiah Dowell of Prince William County, VA. Could this be your Nehemiah? If so let me know and I will see that you get an invitation and password to get into that site. My Dowells originated from Maryland. So far they have been separated into 4 distinct and apparently unrelated groups originating in Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. A fifth distinct line has been documented in England. Another Dewell member in the US may trace his line back to Germany. Three more members have just sent samples to the lab and their results will be known in a few weeks.
