Thomas E. born abt. 1853, Mary A born abt 1856, Josephine born abt. 1858, William born abt. 1862, Elisabeth born abt. 1865 and David Albert (my ggrandfather)born abt 1869. Eli is listed in the 1850 census, White County, IN; 1870 and 1880 census, Newton County, IN; and 1900 census White County, IN. Any info on this family would be greatly appreciated.

Everyone seems to think that Charity Sparrow (1645-1686) daughter of Thomas Sparrow and Elizabeth Kinsey was the wife of Richard Tydings. However no one seems to have documented proof of that fact. Jacob Dowell and his wife Elisabeth Harrold are buried in West Lawn Cemetery in Holmes County, Ohio, which I think is in Paint Township. Jacob died 11 May 1838. Elisabeth died 18 Oct 1881. Where is Dalton, Ohio - in Holmes Co.? Where Is the church obituary information located? Most of their 11 adult children ended up living in Defiance County, Ohio, after moving to other locations first. I did not have a solid lead on Jacob's birth place, so your information is very helpful.

Jacob Dowell, 1775-1838, married to Elisabeth Harrold of Holmes Co., Ohio, was that Jacob Dowell was from Maryland. Jacob studied for the ministry near Baltimore and he was a minister in Maryland and Pennsylvania. Do your have information that he was actually born in Maryland? His children listed his birthplace in several censuses as either Maryland, Virginia, or New York. I have not found any information about his parents yet.
