I found this in a back copy of the York Co. SC Historical Society Quarterly - Sept 1997 volume (an article written by James Havilah Gordon: I have abstracted from it. H. Addison Davies Hartness b. 18 Jan 1825 in York Co. SC married Frances Emeline DOVER in 1847. Hartness died 12 Aug 1864 of wounds from battle in the siege of Petersburg, VA. The author also mentions a monument erected at the site (at Petersburg?) Hartness is on the monument, as is his brother-in-law "Dover, William M. Pvt.".
