    1. Re: [DOVER-L] Fw: 1790-1870 Arkansas Census Index
    2. << Population Schedule AR 1870 Federal Census Index AR126287733 1870 DOVER KERY Poinsett County AR 268 Scott Township. >> You have to trust me on this, this is Bailey A. Dover who arrived from Snead, Blount County, Alabama in late 1868 or early 1869. His son in law also came from Blount. This was John Perry Phillips who married Bailey & Martha's daughter Caroline Malinda Dover in Blount County in 1866. Very current find is that J. P. Phillips was living one census page from William A. Dover son of Anderson. J. P. Phillips first marriage in 1861 had DURHAM witnesses which appear to be the same DURHAM family mentioned in the Jesse Green story and a surname spouse to Mary Ann Green, also part of the Jesse Green story. I showed Mary Ann Green married to L.T. COKER. Someone just informed me that she was also married to Dison Stephens DURHAM. Dice Durham is shown on the same census page with William A. Dover in 1860 Blount Co., AL. The DURHAM who posted the marriage bond for John Perry Phillips first marriage in 1861 to Frances A. WARD was S.B. Durham. Frances apparently died in child birth because when J. P. married in 1866 to Caroline Malinda Dover, there were a couple of children. Two key DURHAMS in Blount .... John and a S. B. John DURHAM might have been in Cherokee Co., GA in 1840. S. B. cannot be found before 1860 or in 1860 Blount, but does appear to be in Madison Co., AL in 1870. That's where Caroline's grandfather John Dover was living at the time. For what it's worth, I'm told there's a Marshall County, Alabama connection before Blount County then a jump to the very northeast corner of Mississippi. Dennis
