    3. The following was copied from the original in the Mass. Archives, Vol. 136, pp.270-280 titled "Petition of the inhabitants of Kennebec River fro Protection." There are over 400 names, and the transposer admits to "taking liberties." This deals with the number of settlers there making improvements while having to handle hostilities with the French and the Indians. Because of their "weak state' and have a "defenceless condition" against them. They are seeking protection for their safety. It is signed April 22, 1755. Among the names is a Jacob Duer, just under an Alexander Campbell Jr..A dozen or so names Above theirs, are the names John Goodwin, and Samuel Goodwin. There is also a Miles Goodwin, and Alexander Campbell.[Sr.] Since I have been working along the Campbell- Youngblood- Dover connection lately, I wanted to point out that what I would think to be the German, " Jungblut " is used as an alternate to Youngblood on the Roots Web. Considering the possible German origins of many Dovers, and the known Dover-Youngblood connection, it seemed to hit a note.......g. { oh, by the way, in my previous post had several typos- one should have been Crusoe, even though I'm sure everybody knew who I meant.}
