This is additional info from some other lists. Not all in our path, but gives some help. Franklin and Elbert are probables. I believe that we will find additional Dover and allied family info in what I think of as north central Georgia counties ... surrounding those counties we already know about. If the first Dover's were in Georgia by 1820 (notably Francis J. Dover), the connection of any records can fill in the path through 1840-50. It's that time period and the lottery system that has the potential of filling in family gaps. Lawson DOVER comes to mind immediately. I think we've already found him in 1830 Muscogee Co. with CROSS families. One of the most useful "mapping" tools available is AniMap Plus by The Gold Bug on CD. It's a county boundary locator by state that shows the county boundaries by date so that you can see when the boundaries changed. Many times an ancestor never moved even though deed and census records might show different county names over a period of time.
