What follows are ALL Rutherford County, North Carolina notes. The probable most significant record and clue at the end of the notes for the per diem that Elijah Dover was given for his court appearance in Morganton, Burke County, North Carolina. If the trip was 120 miles, it was 60 miles one way. A 60 mile arch from Morganton almost exactly pinpoints the Blacksburg area of South Carolina (among other places on the arch) where Elijah was said to have lived in the 1934 letter. Elijah does not appear in a census until 1800 York, SC. He was too young for the 1790 census if he was born 1779. So wouldn't this Elijah Dover in 1795 Rutherford County still be living with his parents in 1790 or was he really born earlier than 1779? Joshua Dover was in Greensville, SC in 1790 (not far away). ALL these other names that follow in Rutherford seem to have some connection with Lincoln County. A side note for Reba Cline .... notice the John ELLISON in the Rutherford notes.
