Some have accepted that he was the father of my proven ancestor Jane Ann Dover, but I have not seen proof, and think that he has been accepted as her father by process of elimination. I know one researcher, not on the Dover list, who thinks Lawson may have been the son of Francis J. But I have three versions of the list of sons of Francis J., and Lawson is not on any of these lists. Lawson was born in SC about 1800, and I suspect he was the son of one of the other early SC Dovers that we have all been trying to learn more about.
