The Dovers and the Shaddix are tide three times that I can pull off the top of my head. David Dover my GG grandfather born 1814 SC. Had a sister named Marry Dover and she married William B. Shaddix. David`s son John A. Dover married Martha Shaddix on the 8/26/1865 in Talladega Al. John A. Served in Co. A, 7th Al Cavalry Confederate. My great grandfather was David Dover born born Sept. 27. 1839. He had a son named Columbus McDonald Dover born 1868 in Talladega, County Al and he married Arminda E. Shaddix. My family moved to Lawrence County Tn, and Columbus McDonald is burried at second Creek about three mills from where my parents have lived all there lives. I have some more info on Aminda, I know from memory that she out lived Uncle Mac (as my dad calls him) by many years. Don`t know where the Washington came from on David Dover. The only name I know is from army records and it seem to be Dan`l and I belive that to be Daniel. Maybe you have something I haven`t found. On Dover-L there was something about Loretto County Tn. As Dennis pointed out that is a small city and it is where I went to school and lived until I was drafted into the army. I now live ten miles west of Decatur Al. in Lawrence County AL.
