Part of the John Dover confusion. Is the John in Pickens (NW So. Carolina) the same one in 1830 Anderson County next door? Pickens and Anderson counties (districts) were really part of early Pendleton. Others have speculated that the John Dover in 1830 Anderson County, South Carolina is the same one in 1840 Carroll County, Georgia (ages do seem to match). Joshua Dover has been speculated as a possible father of John because Josh was nearby in 1790 Greenville County, SC (census).
