    3. Trudy, You should be congratulated! You have managed to get our attention away from our schedules or any pressing family obligations. Apathy seems to follow time periods of intense "digging" for facts. I am delighted that you caused me to respond as a way to put the proverbial "fire" under me. It has resulted in me deciding to rearrange things so I can again take a little time for my family hobby that is needed to maintain sanity when surrounded by chaos. Please understand that the rather large majority, probably all but 2 or 3 list members [Patricia- wouldn't you agree?] have their Dover roots in the south. So it's quite natural for us as a group to focus on the goings on in that area, because that's where we are researching. It doesn't seem logical for me to look for my particular line in Utah, or northern Ohio, if I know that they grew out of S.C. does it? In spite of this, I have never known, heard of, imagined, etc. any Dover/Dovers who would ever "slight" an innocent someone. [ with "innocent" being the operative word - because many Dovers I know or knew and loved are very vindictive] Least of all, someone such as yourself who we consider to be a family member with all the Dovers on the list. I apologize to you for those of us who seemingly, failed to acknowledge you. However, my personal experiences with other lists can only view this list with admiration for sharing everything they find with the list, regardless of whether or not it belongs to their line. I can promise you that I have had a file made for sometime now, ,just for you, with your family info kept for reference in anticipation of the time when something will pop up to benefit you. Somehow, it always does. The Italian word - patienza- [sic] - pronounced - "puh -chin- zuh " meaning "to have patience" has become my mantra. I say it to myself countless times throughout each day, as a reminder that good things will come if I have patience. Because of the Dovers who went into Tn ,KY, and probably onto Ohio,[the Indiana group would fit here too ] with all the biblical names, I have kept my antennae up for anything there. This is because of my line that is traced from one Samuel [in their name someplace] to another through 5 generations, except one, which is a new testament name of Thomas. My husband's family is from northern Ohio. When we drive there through Zanesville, and Dover , etc. to get there, I can't help but feel connected , as I contemplate how these Dovers might relate to me, or to my line. Please don't give up on us. I agree with Sharon Dover Sukiennik about us being "ignorant" about this group of Dovers. However, we wouldn't be if information about them is shared with the group, as you did with your added re: to a re: the descendents of Philip Dover. . The more facts that are shared or repeated, the better chance that we recognize something to fit with someone. There are, as a Dover cousin [no names mentioned] on the list put it to me once, many "lurking" who don't say anything. Patricia has begged everyone - many times to share anything you find with the list. On the bottom of every posting from Dennis, you'll find a question regarding did you find anything on a Dover that wasn't yours, to please post it, or something to that effect. If we are to succeed it will only be because we have shared with one another. The fact that Dennis and Sharon [Sukiennik ] have more info on the Dovers than anyone else provides the example of that truth. Our other Sharon nee'Dover - [Romanek] is another. She hasn't been doing research anywhere close to the time that most of us have been doing it, yet she is just about to pass us all up because of her relentless sharing of absolutely everything that she finds regarding anything DOVER. You never know when something that seems insignificant might be just the key for someone else. If we are serious about our own research, we all need to be reminded to wear our sharing hats. Perhaps with something like -" P.S. SHARE' D" (for Patricia, our 2 Sharons[nee' Dover] and Dennis) We can make it happen! Being able to provide witness to the continuity of the circle of life, by Remembering those who gave life to each of us, and sharing it with others was the basic reason why I started doing family research. Easter's promise of rebirth is a perfect time to be reminded once more. Trudy, thank you for being the catalyst . I am so envious of your reunion. There had been talk from a Dover cousin from this area of one in April, but I've heard nothing more. I wish there was some way for us to plan one in the central part of the country that would make it accessible for a larger number of our list members. Is anyone interested in something like that? Any ideas? We are involved with the anticipated arrival of the next Dover daughter descendant. Margeret [Maggie] Elizabeth can decide to meet her family any minute now. She will be my first biological grandchild, as well as the first in a new Dover generation for my line. My son and his wife live an hour from here and I have been the "chosen" person. To be certain, my days are not my own, but I'm not complaining! I can't wait to meet her- and the Dover temper, along with ears that wiggle, or a tiny hump on her nose! More than that, I can't wait to share this new cousin with each of you!!! Have a very blessed Easter. Don't forget our exclusively personal secret reminder , " p.s. Shar'D." Everyone will benefit.
