KEARNEY Francis E. Kearney, 68, Olathe, died June 18, 1991, at the Olathe Medical Center. He was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Kearney worked for Chicago-Kansas City Freight Lines for 26 years, retiring as a general sales manager in 1981. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Olathe and the Westport Historical Society. Survivors include his wife, Ruth M. Kearney of the home; two daughters, Karen Dover, Bellevue, Neb., and Roxanne K. Mitchell, Shawnee; a stepson, Neil Jones, Palmdale, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Shayne Keleti, Kansas City; a brother, the Rev. Robert E. Kearney, Olathe; and six grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the church; burial in White Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Frye Chapel, Olathe. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Stanley in Overland Park. The family suggests contributions to the Meyer Boulevard United Methodist Church or the Shalom Plaza. Mrs. Dover was a lifelong area resident. She formerly was a receptionist and saleswoman at the Glass & China House in Kansas City. She was a member of the church. She was a member of the U.S. Post Office Auxiliary. Survivors include a brother, Homer Westhoff, Spring Hill in Johnson County. ============== Gertrude ``Gertie'' E. Bartlett, 84, died March 3, 1997, at Cameron Manor Nursing Home, where she had resided since July of 1990. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 7, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Floral Hills Chapel; burial in Floral Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to Cameron Manor Nursing Home for new patio furniture or to your favorite charity. Mrs. Bartlett was born October 18, 1912, in Kansas City, KS, to Lula and August Wright. She lived in Kansas City, MO, until her retirement in 1975, after 28 years with the Kansas City, MO, Police Department. She then moved to Gravois Mills, MO. She was a member of Gravois Mills United Methodist Church; Golden Gate Chapter 58 Order of the Eastern Star; City Wide Past Matrons and Patrons Club of Kansas City, MO; Scottish Rite Free Masonry Ladies; Kansas City, MO, Police Benefit Association; and Retired Centurions Association. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Harold E. Bartlett, Sr., in December of 1988; and two brothers, Truman A. and Joseph S. Wright. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Robert Knight, Cameron, MO; son and daughter-in-law, Harold E., Jr. and Betty Bartlett, Joplin, MO; brother, Charles E. Dover, Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Michael Pittman, St. Louis, MO, Christopher Pittman, Olathe, KS, Meredith Curtis, Weatherby, MO, April Switzer, Woodstock, GA, Loretta Eckenroth, Joplin, MO, and Paul Bartlett, Springfield, MO; 12 great-grandchildren; & 3 great-great-grandchildren.
