A 1942 graduate of Rock Hill High School, she attended Kings Business College in Charlotte. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a past president of the Frank Roach Post No. 34 auxiliary, a former member of the York County Artist Guild and a past president of the S.C. Letter Carriers Auxiliary. She was a member of the International Bible Study Fellowship at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. Surviving are her husband, John S. McBrayer of the home; three daughters, Catherine Abernathy and Juanita Porter, both of Rock Hill, and Dr. Susan E. McBrayer of Norfolk, Va.; her mother, Mamie Dover Wallace of Rock Hill; two sisters, Naomi Poole and Nancy Currence, both of Rock Hill; and five grandchildren.
