I don't know, but the Hugh Quin seems to be a familiar name. Hugh Quin (an older one) was John Fondren's friend. John Fondren sold property on Kings Creek to the old John Dover in York. Looks like the same Daniel Dunn in this deed was in Walker Co. when Simpson was. Daniel Dunn must have left shortly after this when he went to Texas as did Simpson. -----Original Message----- From: Marjorie Stansel [mailto:4615@bellsouth.net] Sent: Monday, January 23, 2006 8:09 PM To: DOVER-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [Dover] Dover Deeds in Whitfield County, GA I don't know, but the Hugh Quin seems to be a familiar name. Depending on what to believe on the internet, the Hugh Quinn in the deed with Simpson Dover was Hugh III. His grandmother was the daughter of John Fondren who sold to John Dover. The grandfather of Hugh in this deed died in York in 1798. The Quinns were in Orange/Granville, NC in 1767. Wonder what Simpson knew about all of this? -----Original Message----- From: Dennis Dover [mailto:ddover1793@earthlink.net] Sent: Tuesday, January 24, 2006 6:28 AM To: DOVER-L@rootsweb.com Subject: RE: [Dover] Dover Deeds in Whitfield County, GA Hugh Quin (an older one) was John Fondren's friend. Thanks. One of the "bad" things about picking up all these deeds at one time is that you don't have time to analyze much about them until later.
