Richmond County, Georgia, Deed Book B, p. 48 Conveyance fromJohn Dover to John Greenad Entered this 26th day of January 1785, as follows: THIS INDENTURE made this 1st day of September in the thirteenth year of the reign of our Sovereign lord George the Third (he succeeded his father in 1760) by the grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland King defender of the faith and so forth And in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and seventy three. Between John Dover of Wrightsborough Township parish of saint paul and province of Georgia of the one part and John Greenad of the Township parish and province aforesaid of the other part. WITNESSETH that for and in consideration of the sum of seven pounds ten shillings sterling money by the said John Greenad to the said John Dover in hand paid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he the said John Dover doth hereby acknowledge himself fully satisfied paid contented for the absolute purchase of a tract of land containing one Hundred acres part of a tract of three Hundred acres which said premises the said John Dover his Heirs and assigns by grant under the great seal of the said Province of Georgia bearing date the third day of July 1773 (should say 1770 based on the phrase that follows) and in the tenth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord ___ (doesn't say George III but may be HM meaning His Majesty) and the said John Dover unto the said John Greenad doth hereby grant release convey and confirm the said tract of one Hundred acres of land being situated and lying in the Wrightsborough township saint pauls p! arish and province of Georgia on a branch of Upton's creek called and known by the name of Middle or Town Creek. BEGINNING at a maple sapling on the west side of said creek Thence along the line to the north corner from thence along the line West to a branch the(n) down the various courses of said branch to where it empties itself unto said Middle or Town branch then down the channel of said creek to the beginning or first station maple being one Hundred acres more or less together with all Houses outhouses buildings improvements lumber and timber trees on the said Land b__gs orchards ways waters water courses fishings feedings privileges emoluments and hereditaments whatsoever thereunto belonging in any ways appertaining And the said John Dover doth relinquish all his estate right title interest property claim and demand whatsoever of in and to the same. To have and to hold the said one Hundred acres of land with all the Improvements Appurtenances and Hereditaments whatsoever hereby Granted unto the said John Greenad his Heirs and assigns forever AND said John Dover his H! eirs and assigns doth convey the said tract of Land freely clearly and clear of all incumbrances whatsoever The one Half of Gold and silver mines excepted to the life of his Majesty his Heirs and successors forever AND lastly that the said John Dover and all other person or persons lawfully equitably claiming or to claim any Estate title or Interest of or to the Granted premises by from or under or of them from time to time and at all times hereafter at the reasonable request and at the proper cost and charges in law of the said John Greenad his Heirs and assigns shall and will make and acknowledge and Execute all and any such further and other act or acts devises and appearances in the law and whatever for the most absolute conveying all and singular the premises hereby Granted or intended to be Granted unto the only use and behoof of the said John Greenad his Heirs and assigns or as his or their conn___ Learned in Law shall be devised advised and required.
