DNA results have been completed for Carl Dover. He is not an exact match with his own nephew shown just below him at the following link. Carl is an exact 12 marker match with nine others and one mutant off with another four, all 13 a family line match. http://www.dovertree.com/pages/5/index.htm Carl's results are one good reason why it's desirable to get more than one DNA sample from a specific family. These changes happen but probably more in the Dover family . for reasons I could never ever explain from the scientific side. I have a sworn notarized statement (of sorts) from the president of Family Tree DNA that, as an example, all the results shown in light blue ARE the same family. For general information, three "cold" requests have recently come to join the Dover DNA group that we belong to. Two I have no idea of the roots, but the other is Sam & Susan Dover which now also means David & Sarah Sparks Dover. In addition, someone is about to signup that is probably the only known male descendant of Lawson & Mary Dover. The cousins in his family are pretty excited and they are all helping in the cost for the test. Current DNA results are now running about 66 calendar days versus about 36 calendar days when we began last September. The reason for this is the increased number of people signing up for DNA. Please make your decision to go ahead with your DNA tests. Find that one living Dover male somewhere in your family. One of the reasons for mentioning this is that costs could increase although I have heard nothing about that happening. Please contact me personally if cost is an issue. I am aware of some possible help from those who cannot themselves take the tests ... the Dover daughters. Any Dover's in Wyoming or Montana that will take the test? That might open some new family connections. PS, I just received notification that one of the three requests has signed up.
