I finally located John Luther Dover in 1920. He is listed in the index as "Bouer". I found him by searching in Ancestry.com for his son John Albert. I entered the name Albert without a last name, indicating an approximate age and with Georgia as birth state and as state to search. I got a hit on Albert Bouer, as well as some others. This was the most likely target, and it turned out to be John Albert Dover, age 27, living with his wife Annie Mae, age 21, and their daughter, Ruby Irene, age 4. They were living in Black's Militia District, Dawson County, Georgia. Next door to Albert was J.L. (John Luther). He is listed as 63 years of age. He indicates his father (William) was born in South Carolina. His son Walter is age 17 (by Joannah Roper), and he has two other sons (by Jane Garrett), Henry age 9, and Thomas age 7. He says he is a Widower. Thus far, I have not found any of these individuals in 1930, and I have tried the above tricks to try to scare them up.
