Dover was 17 years old and living with his parents at Pisgah in Jackson County, AL. In 1910, J.F. Dover, 27, was living in Hamilton County, Chattanooga, TN, working as a carpenter, Wife Lillie M[ae Kirksey]. was 26 years old, had had 2 children and 2 were living: John M. and James E. were both 1 year old. [John Milton & James Elton were the complete names of the twins, born in Rossville, Ga. January 04, 1909 ] In 1920, John F. Dover (indexed as Doree) is still living in Chattanooga, Hamilton, GA. He is 36 years old and a minister. His wife Lilly is 35. They have one son James E., age 10 (He is the twin that survived). I had a note that a daughter Nellie was born in 1916 and died in 1921 of typhoid fever, but she is not listed on this census and perhaps died earlier?. [Nellie was Nellie Mae Dover born December 26, 1912, Tennessee-died July 9, 1917 Chattanooga, Hamilton Co., TN. You had my guessed date for her death from before. I found her death cert several years ago. There was another child born right after Nellie died. It was a little boy who was never named and was stillborn. He was born and died November 05, 1917, Chattanooga, Hamilton Co., TN. Both are buried in White Oak Cemeter/aka Duck Pond Cemetery, Chattanooga Memorial Park/ Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee and have no markers. I have his death certificate as well. ] In 1930, John F. Dover (indexed as John H. Doner), is still in Chattanooga (on Kelly Street). He is 46 and a mechanic for an auto company. Wife Lillie is a laundress at home and is the same age. They both married at age 24. James E. is at home, and he is now 21. He was born in Georgia and is a saleman for a drug company. They have a new son, Raymond, age 5. [James Elton was born January 04, 1909, Rossville, Walker Co, Ga.-died ca. April 07, 1972, Monrovia, Los Angeles County, Ca. The coroner gave us this death date. James was murdered and his body was not found for quite some time. It was not possible to know the exact date. James is buried Live Oak Cemetery, Monrovia, Los Angeles, California. Raymond is my Dad Charles Raymond Dover b. September 16, 1924, Chattanooga, Hamilton County, TN -d. Feburuary 21, 2005, Clinton, Sampson County, NC, buried Mt Carmel Church of God of Prophecy Cemeteryy, Autryville, Sampson County, NC Grandpa was John Franklin Dover born June 02, 1883, Pisgah, Jackson County, AL-died as a result of auto accident November 23, 1945, Visalia ,Tulare County, California. Grandpa is buried Belmont Memorial Park, Fresno, Fresno County, California along side is 2nd wife Louetta Dunn ,b., Nov 13, 1902-died April 15, 1996 Fresno, Fresno Co, Ca. I do not know where she was born.
