Do you know where your g-g-great grandparents are? ----- Original Message ----- From: sromanek To: DOVER-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Tuesday, August 09, 2005 10:40 PM Subject: Re: [Dover] Ara and Martha Dover, daughters of Henry Anderson Dover Marjorie, Again thanks for posting this to the list. Roy Cotnam was the 1st husband of Ara Dover. He was a Circuit Minister or Traveling Minister. He and Grandpa John Franklin Dover preached "Brush Arbors". Leota was not the daughter of Roy & Ara but was born from another relationship he had with someone else. I do not know all the details but she was not Ara's natural child. I will look at the info for Roy as soon as possible. I am not able to do so now and would like to see it. Ara and Roy divorced. She married again to a Peter Gabel b. September 03, 1907-October 1976 Fresno, Fresno Co, Ca. Ara was born April 06, 1890 & died August 18, 1956 Fowler, Fresno County, California. She could preach a sermon in a second from what I heard of her and was tough as nails. She went hunting for one of her brothers in a brothel at one time. :-) A niece who had just gotten her drivers license went with her and was sworn to secrecy. The niece is still living and told me about it. Said Ara was something else. I have not been able to find Fred and Martha in 1930 either despite hours of looking for them. Edna just died within the last few years. I got to meet her and ask her several things but her memory was fading at that time. She did tell me a few things. She never knew W.A. Dover or remembered hearing of him. She knew Henry Anderson and use to ride with him on his wagon to peddle vegetables, wares etc. He was a Huckster. None of the children of Fred & Martha are still living. Below is what I know of them. I knew several of them when I was a little girl growing up in Chattanooga. Allen Davis who did the funeral for Roy McNabb was the same Minister who married my parents in 1953. I hope some of the helps and that it will make it to the list. There is a LOT of info here for those who want it. 1. Edna Adina Mcnabb b. September 08, 1916, Creed Town, Alabama d.
