I recently got some more death certificates from Alabama and thought I would share the information with the list in case it will help anyone. Please, if you know more about these people or their families, share it with the rest of the list. This is how we can help each other. This should be who I have as Madison M. Dover II. He shows up as Matterson in census records, and as M.M. Dover, so I am not sure what the F is all about, but there IS an F. on the death certificate. Death Certificate # 26734 Place of Death Cullman, Alabama M.F. Dover Male, white, married Age 57 yrs, 8 mos. 18 days Date of birth: April 2, 1868 Occupation: Farmer Birthplace: Ga. Name of father: M. Dover Birthplace of father: Ga. Maiden name of Mother: Susie Collins Birthplace of mother: Ga. Informant: Will Dover, Joppa, Rt. 2 Ala. Date of death: Dec. 20, 1920 Cause of death: Tuberculosis Place of burial: Corinth December 22, 1920 I imagine the person giving some of the information on this was not sure.There are multiple locations of birth for his parents through multiple census records. Madison's seem to be consistently Ga. though. =========== I REALLY MAY be wrong on this one but I will say what I THINK I see on this one. It is a very hard document to see. I scanned it at very high resolution and turned it to a negative and everything could think of and it is still almost impossible to see. I did this thinking before I looked up a census record, so what I think was not influenced. Death Certificate: 2124 Place of Death: Winston County, Alabama Full Name: Dovie (LAURA) Dover-LAURA is what I THINK I see Sex: Female??? Race: ? Age: 12 mos. 7 days????? This could also say 2 months. It is hard to tell Date of birth: ??? I see no entry Birthplace: Winston ??? I assume this means Winston County. I find no town named Winston Name of Father: J.??? Dover Birthplace of Father: Winston?? Maiden name of Mother: A.??????? Birthplace of Mother: Winstson?? Informant: J. Dover Date of Death: Jan 10-1920 Cause of Death: Unknown No location of burial or date looks to be filled in. I looked in the 1920 Winston County, Alabama census and only find one family with a male in it with the initials J. He would be the right age to be a father at 22. His wife is Beulah and they have one 11 month old child and boarder named Bellzora M. Dover age 14, but no other children. His name is Janes in the index. It almost looks to me like it says Junior, or Juner. The infants name is Ida E. Does anyone know who this family is? I do not find them in the 1930 census. They are a white family. ================ I am leaving out one fact on the below on purpose. If anyone feels they are connected to this family and wants to know more, please contact me privately.
