    3. Wasn't there a Barbara/Barby Dover in the Poor School files in GA? But a female delagate at a railroad convention in 1836? I'm leaning toward the idea that this is a transcription error and this should be Bailey Dover. 3. That's interesting. There's two Bailey's in this thought. The one in the Poor School records has an implied year of birth of 1817 that matches the year of birth for my Bailey A. Dover son of John Dover born about 1793. Bailey Dover (the eldest Bailey born abt. 1791 SC) in Rabun County was a long time judge so his being involved with the railroad seems a little unusual. I'll never be able to prove or disprove it but there's a chance that the Luraney Dover in the Poor School records was married to a BENNETT and living next door to my John Dover in 1850 Alabama (their marriage license in Georgia did omit her maiden name). I finally gave up on that one after a lot of years only to then find out recently that Joel & Luraney Bennett (she died young) had a grandson that was named Bailey Dover Bennett (1900-1977). I've always suspected that my John Dover was the brother of Bailey Dover in Rabun County, Georgia. Bailey was in Buncombe Co. in 1820 living near an elder John Dover born before 1775 and between 1761-1770 in the 1830 Buncombe census who could have been his father. Marjorie found one of those golden records that show Jeptha Dover from Buncombe County, NC was kin to Bailey Dover the elder in Rabun County, Georgia. One of the major surprises to me in the DNA so far is that one of the descendants of Frederick (& Margaret) Dover living next door to this Jeptha Dover in 1830 Buncombe Co. is an exact match with the family line of Francis J. Dover. My John could/should be one of the other next door neighbors of the four Dover's in 1830 Buncombe (John, Fred, Jeptha and Elijah) but we (Fred & John Jr.) are off by one mutant although we still connect.
