    3. Pam, Yes, of course Pam, I will be happy to share with you and the others whatever information I have. I see that Dennis already has the letter from Elmer to my father which I have worked on from time to time for many years, but I had never seen the letter from Marcus that Dennis also was good enough to transmit. My father was very interested in the family history, as I have been, but most of the work he did or had done concerned his mother's Russell family. The article about the Russell reunion was of great interest to me and although I was not there, I do have an 8mm movie that Dad took, but unfortunately with almost no one left to identify the participants. I do have quite a lot of family information, but almost none of it supported by proper records. I also have a third cousin living in Montana who has very good records. My first cousin Mary (Dover) Ancell still lives in Sikeston. Her son is very interested in the Dover family history and I'm sure has more complete information than I do, so we should be able to help. My parents were: Giles Lucas Dover, b Sep 26, 1888, Pevely, MO, d Aug 4, 1959, Summit, NJ, m Aug 17, 1907, Sikeston, MO (m date may have been 1908) Lena May Thogmorton, b Jan 17, 1889, Milan, TN, d Nov 13, 1976, Millburn, NJ John Eldridge Dover, b Oct 5, 1858, Sulphur Springs, MO, d May 3, 1940, Sikeston, MO, m Oct 19, 1887 Addie Cessna Russell, b Oct 2, 1868, Arcadia, MO, d ? Sikeston, MO Jerome Bonaparte Dover, b Nov 1, 1826, New Albany, IN, d Aug 31, 1905, Desoto, MO, m Aug 13, 1854, Jefferson Co. MO Margaret Lucas, b about 1834, MO, d 1907, Desoto, MO John Dover, b Dec 4, 1789, VA, d Oct 14, 1857, Bethlehem, MO, m Dec 9, 1817, Louisville, KY Jemima Stevens, b Feb 2, 1790, Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire Co., England, d Oct 4/6, 1873/4, Bethlehem, MO Phillip Dover Margaret Pam, I have shown John Dover's birthplace as VA because that's what he gave to the 1850 census, but I understand that others have found that he enlisted in the Army in 1812 from Wheeling, WVA, which was still part of VA in 1789. Thanks again, Pam, and I hope this information helps.
