    3. One interesting thing about William. He was in Galveston, Texas at one time with his father-in-law doing some contracting. I read recently after all the hurricanes that Galveston was almost wiped off the face of the earth in their big one many years ago. I remembered that this was about the same time that William and his father-in-law were there. They may have gone there after the hurricane. That hurricane came without warning and thousands? died. The devastation was unbelievable. -----Original Message----- From: Sharon Dover Romanek [mailto:sromanek@salisbury.net] Sent: Wednesday, February 08, 2006 3:49 PM To: DOVER-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [Dover] William Dover of Yorkville, SC Looking Backward T 11-14-44 Page 6 Chatta-nooga for many years, and at one time widely known as a contractor and builder, died twenty-five years ago at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joseph Trimby Sr., on Oak Street. 3. Yes, that is true about Galveston Dennis. I recently saw a documentary on TV about that right before Louisiana got hit. It was wiped out! They got warning but the telegraph lines were down and some did not believe what they were seeing and thought it was a mistake. Sound familiar?
