    2. I believe that most of these are the descendants of Samuel Dover and Susan Collins. Thomas C. was born about 1840 to Susan and Samuel. He married Nancy Ross (I believe). In 1870, they were in Polk County, TN, District 4. Thomas was 28, a farm laborer, Nancy C. was 26. Their children were Samuel 3, James A. 2, and Charles T. 2 months. In 1880, Nancy C. was alone, age 34, living in Whitfield County at Tunnel Hill. Children were James E. 12, Charles T. 10, Mary S.C. 8, and John A. 5 (making Thomas' death after 1874). Also living with them was Mary Ross, age 79, "mother". The sons were working on the farm.
