The John Dover deed in Murray County "could be" a deed for John Divers. There was a listing for John Divers, born in Ireland, in Murray County in 1850. This same John Divers is in Whitfield County in 1860 AND appears in the Whitfield County deed index as "John Dovers". Marjorie Dover Stansel

There is a Jeff Dover in this following link for Federal and Confederate troops of Texas County, Missouri. This list also contains the resident property owners who paid taxes in the county in 1861-64. Texas County is not far from the Arkansas border. Wonder if this was Thomas Jefferson Dover married to Lucinda Kassinger and was later in Baxter County, Arkansas? http://genforum.genealogy.com/cgi-bin/pageload.cgi?dover::mo/texas:: 898.html

I was exploring Ancestry.com today in attempt to find any new info or clues to guide me in my Royal DOVER research and came across an obit for a Dewey DOVER of Greenville SC. He is the son of Mack Doctor DOVER, grandson of William F. and Mary Jane DOVER of Madison Co., NC, and great-grandson of Royal DOVER. Dewey was 99 when he died 26 November 2004. "Dewey was a hardworking father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He loved his family and farming. He raised cattle and other farm animals. HE was the first in Greenville to have a pig parlor. He worked for Woodside Mill 15 years. He and his wife loved children and opened their home to help many foster children grow up in a loving and caring home. Many came to visit years after being adopted." Survivors included a daughter, and a son. There are also grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and gggrandchildren named (some of all are DOVER's) There are several names listed. If anyone would like the details, email me. I hate to post the names, for certainly they are probably alive and well. I wonder if any of these male DOVER's would take the DNA test???
