Hi Wayne, I show the DOB for Edmund Bryan Dover as March 25, 1827. If a couple of links can be verified, I have a fairly long genealogy of this family. I personally agree with Sharon S on the parents of Edmund who occasionally appears as Edward and who may have had several wives. I have a photo of Edmund and some written correspondence about him from several sources, one now deceased. Have we corresponded in the past? Dennis Dover In a message dated 5/21/99 3:31:30 PM Pacific Daylight Time, DIRTDABBER@webtv.net writes: << Hi. I'm looking for info. on John Crawford DOVER, b. 9 Nov., 1873; d. 11 Feb., 1905. DOVER (only date of death, 18 Aug., 1915...no places) and Mary Margaret DERMID, b. 21 Apr., 1835; d. 19 Dec., 1888. Does anyone recognize any of this? Thanks.................Wayne >>
Wayne, Just looked over further in my notes. John Crawford Dover was also a s/o Edmond. It's been a while since I have looked at this line. Edmond had a second family. He left his family and went to Cherokee Co, (GA?) and started another family. Don't remember all the details of this off hand, and not sure of dates to know which kids were from the 2nd family, but possible that they are the ones on WFT. Maybe Dennis will help me out here. Wayne, Information that I have is different than what you listed. I have Edmund Bryan Dover b ca 1827 NC md Mary Margaret Durmid b ca 1830 SC. Children that I have for them are Elizabeth, Mary A, Jane, Martha J, Caroline F, Cary, Sara A . William Frederick and James H Dover. Edmund Bryan Dover was the s/o Frederick Dover b 1799 NC md to Jane ?? b 1799 SC. WFT Vol 2 #3883 shows wife of Edmund B Dover as Mary M Smith and shows children as J Lee, John Crawford(Cordelia Rachael Watkins), Callie, and Adeline. I do not know anything about this WFT entry. I do know that the above information comes from several who have done research on this line. Sharon S

Anyone have any WISE connections? They came out of Georgia. ".... About "10" of his (James WISE & Permelia MILLER) sons came over to Webster Parish and settled at Wiseville, about two miles south of what is now Shongaloo, Louisiana. One son, J. G. WISE was a doctor, Dover (?) WISE was a preacher, the others were merchants and farmers. The Civil War scattered and took its toll in this family. Two died in service. Dr. G. J. WISE lost his home and slaves while away in war. After returning from fighting, he took his wife and two small children and went over to the present site of Shongaloo, Louisiana and continued practice. At this time, the place was an Indian village, whose highways were cow-trails and deer trails. Later he moved onto a homestead a mile west of town and retired from practice."
Hi Sometime back, Gayle sent a list, of who people are researching, Galye, can you resend it? Or can someone send a copy to the list? I think some of the newer members, might be interested. Hi, I hope this is the same Green Dover you are searching for. This Greenbury did move to Illinois. He is in my family line that I have been researching for quite some time. His father, Joshua, was in Greene Co, IN as early as 1820's. Read the information below and let me know if we are close on dates. I guess its possible that his second marriage was to Martha Bean. A quick last message to all my on line friends to let you know we are leaving Monday May 10th to head back east for the summer. I will only be able to check mail a couple of times, and not sure how many messages I will have time to answer. I will answer any emergency messages from relatives or friends. I hope there are not any of those. Please hold all jokes and any unnecessary messages until I notify you all that I am back on line. The ones that are important are alright. Maybe this way, I will not loose any list messages. Hotmail, limits the size of my account. I would really appreciate it. I hope you all understand. I am sending this to a couple of my list, because that is the easiest way to reach some of you, without having to go through my entire address book , and pick everyone out by hand. I hope this does not offend anyone on the lists. Hope you all have a wonderful summer, and also hope to hear from you in about three weeks. Also, there are some of you we will be seeing real soon & I can hardly wait. This is also to let you know we are on our way. Gives you time to hide :-))))) Sharon Dover Romanek ============================================== SHARE'D Got Any Dover You Haven't Posted, Please Do Researching: Kirksey, Dover, Shrader, Tyner,McNabb romanek@cybertrails.com Sept 30-May 10 romanek@salisbury.net June 1-Sept 30 s_romanek@hotmail.com Year Round BACK UP ONLY Fax # 603-250-0747
Lawson Dover b abt. 1800 SC was in Harris Co., GA in 1840 and in Tallapoosa Co., AL in 1850. Many of the Tallapoosa neighbors of Lawson Dover have connections with Bailey's brother Lemuel from at least 1850 to the present. One of these are the MADDEN families. The father of the Madden families in Tallapoosa Co., AL (Elias John) died in Harris County, Georgia in 1840. His father was Richard MADDEN b 1764-1770 in Frederick County, Maryland. Died Wilkes Co., GA. Richard Madden was married to Mary ASHMORE in very early Wilkes County, Georgia. Richard Madden had a brother David Madden b 1755 MD who had at least three sons born in Morgan County, Georgia .... David, Dennis and Thomas. Just learned that Mary ASHMORE b 1770's in Virginia was the daughter of Walter ASHMORE. The Walter Ashmore family was in York County, South Carolina in the 1790 census on the SAME page (29) with ALL the original Dover's and the main allied lines. Amazing coincidences. I draw no conclusions. It's just too confusing over such a long period of time. Dennis
