I received this listing from Dr. Hugh Kearsey on the Oxfordshire list and thought maybe some of the names might be of interest to someone out there. Hi Folks, I thought I would give you a heads up, a new worm has just started to spread in the last couple days. Its called Worm.ExploreZip The MSNBC page has a story that also explains what to do if you if you did get the virus. http://www.msnbc.com/news/278660.asp >From the MSNBC site > Computer security companies > said the worm represented a new level of danger, > combining the rapid-spread capability of the > recent Melissa virus with a far more dangerous > payload. Check out this site to verify this, if you want:) If you send anyone an e-mail and get a reply that says "Hey <your name>. I got your e-mail and will reply ASAP. In the meantime look at these zipped files." The message will have an attachment that is called something like "zipped_files.zip" or "zipped_files.exe." Do not open the attachment (it is the culprit). If you double-click or open the attachment, or save it and then open it, it will infect your system, which means it will start trashing your files. It also installs in your e-mail so that everyone who sends you and e-mail will get the same kind of reply with the virus attached. -- Happy Hunting:) Patricia Manson Dover Listmanager Alabama Listmanager ICQ # 35834412--IM pvmtrish http://www.myfreeoffice.com/treeshaker/

Mary was born 1810. Mary's dad is listed, b. 1784, her mother was Elizabeth cloud, b. abt 1789. They had 6 children: Earles, Augustus M. , Stephen D., Odes P., Rebecca Ann and Cartiarciet. List of Taxables in Rowan Cty, 1768, John Dover - 1. Also that Sarah Bailey, Mary's sister, married George Washington Newberry and named their first son Augustus EARLE Newberry. She thinks "Earle" was Augustus' middle name. Mary and Sarah Bailey also had a brother named Terrell. Notice that Francis and Mary's first son above was EARLES. This is, I think, Theron Earl Dover. I posted the English and Scots/Irish naming protocol last year. I can post again if anyone wants. Maybe we can find a naming pattern here from known family that will lead back a ways. I feel pretty strongly about the father of Francis Marion Dover. This BAILEY family is the only known Dover connection which "might" have something to do with the naming of at least three Dover given names. A possible fourth in Habersham if there are no duplicates. Randy, can you work more on Rutherford and edge over into Lincoln and Mecklenburg :-) Dennis
The May-June 1999 copy includes a new book about the descendants of Job & Hannah Wheeler FRANKLIN along with allied families (selected) BELLEW, BROWN, DODD, DOVER, IVESTER and SHIRLEY. These are Habersham County, Georgia families. If you want the name, address and cost of this 600 pages, let me know and I'll reply with these specifics. We had a FRANKLIN query recently. I've always wondered if this might be a connection with the naming pattern. Think one of the Franklin's was a sheriff in Habersham?

Hi Dennis, and everyone! I just got home, and I have to say I found all kinds of information, but I am now more confused than ever:) I am spelling it as the census taker did. The family before them has Mis Mis Mis and the " " " follow on down most the page:( 1880 census 10th & 14th June page 18 District 83 Paris Dallas 157-160 Dover T.J. White male 55 Labor on farm born " " " Mirandy F 45 wife Keeping house " " " William M 19 son at home " " " Bordelia F 9 Daughter " " " Joe M 5 son " " " 1870 census has alot of mistakes, at least I think they are mistakes. I was told if the people where not home the census taker would get the information from the next household, so That might explain this! Note the name Harvey. I am not sure, but I was told at the reunion Jeff came from Al with a Harvey Dover, they could of just confused him with there son. This is the only time Harvey shows up Dover J. P. 32 Male, Farmer, pres prop 200 acres, Birth AL M 29 F H.K Ms E. 12 M at home Ms Wm 9 M Ms Harvey 5 M Ms I looked at the Mic film, but the printer was broken, so I copied the 1870 census out of a book, and it matches the mic film Two houses down is John Clearey, he witnessed Jeff and Meranzia marriage bond in 1857. If Elisha was 12 at the time he would of showed up in the 1860 census and he does not. But I do have pictures of him, and Cordelia:) 1860 census Jeff Dover 35 Male Labor ALA Moranzie 24 F ALA eight houses down is A.J. I am going to assume that Harvey is the son listed in the 1870 census, he does not show up in the 1880 and going by age he would of been 15 and still at home.. The only 3 unmarked graves in a row are next to Sarah E Phillips. I did not find the graves!!!!!! The OLD WHITE OAK TREE ( the only one in the area) that they are buried next too has fallen and is laying over them I believe, this information is coming from someone who walked the grave yard in 1978 and wrote everything down. There is also a I.M. Dover died 10-31-1955 age 69 (funeral home marker) I did not find this either:( Dallas is unkept and the weeds are abt a foot high, so it was hard to walk through.) Note, Jeff's age 1860 35 and 1880 55. He could of been born 1825 I want to mention, that I am sure, that some of the Davis are Dovers, I found Jeff on the 1870 census, mic film, and the E is dotted. Cordelia is found as a Daves, but that was the transcribers fault, I looked at the Mic film and it does look like Daves. Where did Wynnie and John A. come from. I've never seen a Wynnie and John A. Dover born 1853 should stand out in all the later Dover info we all have. Don't see a Dover with a given name beginning with "A" born about 1853 either. Don't see him after 1860. Josh said he was born in Georgia in the 1850 census. This is confusing.
