    1. RE: [Dover] Death Certificate of William Frederick Dover
    2. Dennis Dover
    3. Got to comment on this one. A. J. Dover was Andrew James Dover. He was the father of Harry James Dover who lives in Asheville, NC. Harry is well into his 80's now. If ever there was a really nice "character," Harry's the one. He never knew who his great grandfather was (Edmund). He lives near another Dover who is a descendant of Elijah & Martha Duckett Dover. Those two have seen places together in Buncombe that the rest of us Buncombites would love to see, including the probable remains of a fireplace where Elijah Dover once lived on Turkey Creek. -----Original Message----- From: sromanek [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, April 14, 2004 7:53 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Dover] Death Certificate of William Frederick Dover Person in Charge of Body: A.J. 3. Vicie is Richard Sherman Dover's wife (son of Burton & Jane Dover) and I have no clue where Leon fit in except on the Edmund Bryan Dover side. William Frederick Dover in the prior post was the son of Edmund Bryan Dover. Edmund and Burton were living in the same household in 1850 Lumpkin Co., GA. RS & Vicie Dover had a son named William Bain Dover. -----Original Message----- From: Terry Jackson [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, April 14, 2004 8:11 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Dover] Death Certificate of Vicie Dover Dennis, Isn't this Leon's mother. 1. RE: [Dover] Dover / Unclaimed Property
    2. Dennis Dover
    3. I think the unclaimed property lists are a great genealogy resource and I am going to make a related offer. My Dad passed away in 1979. My aunt, my last living Dover family member passed away in 1985. Dad came to California from Arkansas in 1936 after he graduated from the U of A. Both are listed in the Arkansas unclaimed property list at the address of their parents. I am in the process of completing the paperwork to receive the claims. I will donate these claims to anyone on Dover-L or their immediate families with roots in my family path and time who haven't already taken a DNA test and need assistance in the cost of taking the 25 marker DNA test with the request that you have or will post your known Dover family to Dover-L. Contact me privately and it will be anonymous. Terry Jackson has been my family genealogy angel. She is the one who found the old deeds dated back in the 1850's in the court house where she lives that showed and proved a father and sister for my Bailey Dover born in NC in 1817. I started my hunt when Grandpa passed away in 1968 and it took me 27 years to find Terry ... and another eight years to find that she and I are from the same family group from the recent DNA participation by some of the list members. A brief posting and a little participation goes a long way. It's as painless and quick as taking the DNA swab. Many on our list have and are working very hard on the entire Dover family who are willing to share what they have found. Both my Dad and Aunt would be thrilled to know what we never knew about our family when they were alive and I know that both would say it's a good thing to make this offer. I just hope they didn't have a lottery in Arkansas that was connected with these claims. -----Original Message----- From: Terry Jackson [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Saturday, April 10, 2004 3:27 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [Dover] Dover / Unclaimed Property Surfing on the State of Alabama Unclaimed Property page: http://www.treasury.state.al.us/website/ucpd/ucpd_frameset.html If you or someone you know is listed on the page you can file a claim and collect what's coming to you. 3. I would be glad to take the DNA test. Who do I need to contact. -----Original Message----- From: Dennis Dover [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, March 24, 2004 11:08 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [Dover] Death Certificate of John Dover-Shelby County, AL Mike, this could be the same line. There are 25 marker DNA results from TJ's line from one person (Larry) that already connects perfectly with the Dover's in the Habersham County, Georgia and Buncombe County, North Carolina in the same 1830 census year. There is hope among a couple of us who know a Dover living in Arkansas that he will take the DNA test in a couple of months. He's almost certainly a descendant of a son of Lawson & Mary Dover that was living in Paris, Lafayette Co., MS in the 1860 census before going to Arkansas. Also in Banner, Calhoun County, Mississippi (1860 census) was the married daughter of Lawson & Mary Dover. Paris and Banner are 7.5 miles from each other. One DNA test from a family line has been just great so far but more than one test from the same line is very important. The president/founder of Family Tree DNA is off by one mutant in one marker with his own father (they are still DNA matches) yet he matches exactly in all markers with other family members. The important thing I think to understand about the DNA results so far is that some of us do match (are kin) even though we are off by one or two mutants in one marker. It's possible that the DNA marker "slip" occurred down the line meaning that ALL of us still related in one group could have matched up perfectly earlier. Any chance you would consider taking the DNA test? Larry from your line is off by one mutant in one marker with me. What if you and I matched perfectly and you are off by one mutant in one marker with Larry? I'm hoping someone from my line can be added to the tests .... maybe we are off by one mutant which could mean that they are a perfect match with others who are already perfect matches and "still" off by one mutant with me. -----Original Message----- From: Mike Dover [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, March 24, 2004 5:48 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [Dover] Death Certificate of John Dover-Shelby County, AL My gggrandfather,Thomas Jefferson Dover, married my gggrandmother,Meranzia Hayes, in Ponotoc Co.
