    1. Belle Dover Ivester, daughter of Jesse Dover, Habersham CO
    2. According to Ancestry.com records, in 1930, 41 year old Belle Ivester was living with her father Jesse Dover at Deep Creek. She states she was 18 at the time of her first marriage and apparently is still married but no husband is living with them. The children are: Ella May was 15, Eugenia was 13, Annie L. Ivester was 9, Lewis was 7, and Dorothy was 5 and 5 or 6 months. I don't find Belle or a husband or the children on any census between the time she left home and the 1930 census. 1. Re: [Dover] Alice Dover Ivester, daughter of Edward Parker Dover and Nancy Lo...
    2. Thank you very much. You are a wealth of information. I've also looking for additional information on Anthia Dover Ivester, wife of Edward N. Ivester (Jesse Dover purchased land from him in 1891). According to the Habersham cemetery website, Anthia Dover Ivester, b. August 12, 1882, died March 6, 1957, is buried at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Her husband is supposed to be Edward W. Ivester. There isn't an Edward W. Ivester that I've found; however, Edward N. Ivester (the one that sold land to Jesse Dover in 1891) appears on the 1900 Habersham County (Deep Creek) census, married to an Alpha. She was born February 1865 according to that census. The only "Alpha" or similar female is a daughter of Sarah Martin in 1880. Alpha was 15. In 1870, Alpha was listed as Sarah A.M.A. Martin, age 5. At the time of this census, Sarah Martin and her children were living with George W. Wheeler and his family. I also searched the Georgia death index, and found no similar name for 1957 for Habersham County. If anyone knows who Anthia or Alpha or Alphia is, please post. Thanks. 2. Here's what I have on Jesse Dover, son of Jarrard Nelson Dover. He was born March 1854. He married SUSAN (I don't know her last name). She was born March 22, 1856, and died October 03, 1916 in Habersham County, GA. In 1880, Jesse was 23 years old, farming in Habersham County, GA. His wife Susan was 24, and one son, Willie was 4. E. N. Ivester sells property to Jesse Dover, 7/18/1891, deed recorded 4/7/1892, Deed Book J 67. In 1900, Jesse Dover, age 46, was a farmer at Deep Creek in Habersham County. Wife Susan was 44, born March 1856. They had been married 23 years. Susan had 7 children and 7 were living. William P. was born December 1876 and was 23 years old, Dewey was born May 1882, Omar was born December 1883, Ida was born May 1886, Belle was born December 1888, Lester was born May 1892, and Cap was born July 1895. In 1910, Jesse Dover was living at Deep Creek still. He states he is 60 years old. Jesse is a manager of a sawmill. His wife Susan is 58. They both have been married once for 35 years. Susan had seven children and seven are living. The only two at home are: Lester 16 (listed as a daughter), and Cap 14, a son. Near door to him is an Omar Dover, 24, (Jesse's son), and his wife Roxie, age 22. They have been married 5 years, have had 3 children and 2 are living: Lethie, a daughter, is 4, and Annie is 10 months old. An Ida Invester is next door, and this may be his daughter also. On October 3, 1916, Susan Dover passed away. She is buried at Ebenezer Methodist Church. In 1920, Jesse was living at Deep Creek as Jessie Dover he was 60 years old and a farmer. His son Omar and his family is living with them. The census taker wrote wife and then marked it out so it's difficult to read, but Omar is a male. His wife Roxie (same as last census) is now 29, Leathie, fem., 13, Inez is 8, Birdie is 6, Lonnie is 4 years 1 month, and Gladys is 1 year and 4 months. Annie apparently died. His next door neighbor is 74 year old William Fry. In 1930, Jesse was living at Deep Creek next to Dewey A. Dover. He is 83 and a farmer. Living with him was 41 year old Belle Ivester, his daughter. Her daughters Ella Mae 15, and Eugenia 13, Annie L. 9, Lewis 7, and Dorothy 5 and several months are living with them. On April 16, 1939, Jesse Dover passed away (under name Jessie). If he is buried at Ebenezer Methodist Church with wife Susan, no tombstone exists. Marjorie Dover Stansel

    2. Samantha Jane Dover married J.L. Daffern on May 11, 1889 in Erath County, Texas, and Ella Dover married J.A. Cunningham on February 6, 1886 in Erath County, Texas (Ancestry). Based on your info, these two are daughters of Campbell C. Dover. A.A. Dover (Albert Augustus Dover) m. Corah L. Chandler on December 22, 1887 in Erath County, Texas. I haven't found a marriage yet for Joseph or Benjamin. This is all the Dover marriages in Erath County (except for the one for Burton's daughter). 1. Re: [Dover] Lucy C. or E. Dover, daughter of Campbell Dover
    2. I greatly appreciate all this help. I have sent off for Alford's obit and I will for his DC too. Vicki According to Ancestry.com, L. C. Dover married G.W. Clark on February 2, 1870 in Cherokee County, Texas. In 1870, Lucy C. or E. Clark, age 18 (b. 1852), b. Georgia, was keeping house with George W. Clark, age 19, b. Texas, working on farm. They were living with George's parents in Jacksonville (Beat 3) Cherokee County, Texas. I searched all of Beat 3 and found no other Dovers. I believe this is Lucy, daughter of Campbell Dover. 2. Oh, thank you so much for all this. I have emailed my cousin's dau to ask my aunt for any assistance but don't know if they will work on this. Vicki Marjorie, I've always thought that the 14 year old in Navarro was Alfred Augustus, but I have no proof. I've never been able to find CC and Malissa in the 1870 census, but I believe they were also in Navarro during that whole time. Malissa had a child born September 11, 1870 and family sources say it was in Navarro CO. I need to do a line by line search of the entire county for them, but just haven't done it, I also need to dig through the pile of notes and recheck the exact dates, because sometime between 1872 an 1877 CC and Malissa divorced and then remarried....by 1880 they were in Erath CO.
