Hello everyone, As the new admin, I am still trying to find my way around the Doucet Surname Family Tree DNA Project. We are eager to have as many DIRECT LINE Doucet(te) males tested as we possibly can. To join the project, go to http://www.familytreedna.com/group-join-request.aspx?group=Doucet whereby you can click PURCHASE A TEST TO JOIN THIS PROJECT. Doucet is a relatively common French family name that exists among the Acadians and Cajuns, among the other French in Louisiana, among the Mi'kmaq in Nova Scotia, as well as among the early colonists of Canada (Québec). This project was launched (April 2010) in the interest in learning more about these various Doucet families. The chief goal of this Y-DNA surname project is to discover more about the origins of the people who bear the name. An important secondary objective is to explore the possibility of relationships, near or remote, among those people. At the present time, there are C3 Doucets and R1b Doucets. As more men join the project, it is to be expected that there will be some who are neither C3 nor R1b. The preponderance of the evidence will eventually cause the emergence of patterns from which conclusions about the first ancestors of the various clusters of results may be drawn. If one is not interested in being tested (either because they are female and/or they are not a direct line Doucet(te) male with an unbroken male line) and yet wishes to make a donation to the fund, they can go to http://www.familytreedna.com/group-general-fund-contribution.aspx?g=Doucet Warmest regards, Michele -- Amazon Author Page http://www.amazon.com/Michele-Doucette/e/B002NDDOY6/ Cyber Home of Michele Doucette http://germaindoucet.com/ Doucet Surname Family Tree DNA Project http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Doucet/default.aspx __________ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 5682 (20101207) __________ The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com
