Anne M. Doucette, 74, died in the early evening hours Thursday, July 8, 2010, at a Madawaska nursing home, 14 days short of her 75th birthday. She was born July 22, 1935, in Cyr Plantation, the daughter of Lucien and Artheline (Ouellette) Ouellette Sr. Anne was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and a fervent Catholic, who attended Mass weekly. Due to her illness, in later years she would listen to Mass on EWTN and received communion at home. She was a former member of Evangeline Circle, Daughters of Isabella. Anne was an accomplished seamstress and quilt maker. In earlier years she enjoyed dancing and socializing with friends and family. She is survived by her husband, Wilfred "Whitey" Doucette of Van Buren; two daughters, Cynthia A. Doucette of Orlando, Fla., and Teresa S. Madore of St. David; two brothers, Lucien Ouellette Jr. of Va! n Buren and Donald Ouellette of Augusta; five sisters, Stella Rowe of Bristol, Conn., Maxine Lajoie of Cyr Plantation, Therese Ouellette of Wolcott, Conn., Carmella Ouellette of Winter Park, Fla., and Joan Townsend of Salisbury, Md.; and two grandchildren, Jonathan and Olivia Madore. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one son, Charles Doucette; and by an infant daughter, Sharon. Relatives and friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 16, and 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday, July 17, at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Committal service and interment will be at the parish cemetery. Frank Clements was the son of Simon Clements and Julia Doucette. Annie Doucette was the daughter of Alexander and Catherine Doucette. All were of Nova Scotia and were French Canadian. It appears that Frank and his parents, Simon Clements and Julia Doucette, came to America from Nova Scotia in 1890. He was born April 17, 1951, in Van Buren, the son of Fortunat "Pete" and Carmen (Marquis) Doucette. Jim graduated from Van Buren High School in 1969 and graduated with an engineering degree from the University of Maine, Orono, in 1971. He was a former member of the Lions Club and an active member of Knights of Columbus Council 1635 and Fourth Degree Assembly. Jim was a loving husband and best friend to Phyllis, his wife of 35 years. He was a dedicated provider and caring father to his two sons of whom he was very proud. Jim was also very grateful for being a "Pepere" to his two precious grandsons. For 39 years, Jim worked for Maine Department of Transportation on road projects as a technical engineer and as a bridge manager for the past 10 years. Always taking pride in his work, Jim gave 100 percent and was always fair to everyone. He was planning to retire in the s! ummer of 2010. Jim was a great friend, always honest and trustworthy. He valued spending time with his two brothers, fishing, hunting and talking around the fire at Long Lake. Jim was an avid curler and enjoyed snowshoeing, hiking, playing cards, backgammon and especially kayaking. He enjoyed vacationing in Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, but his small piece of "heaven on earth" was the time he spent at his camp on Van Buren Cove. He is survived by his mother, Carmen (Marquis) Doucette of Van Buren; his beloved wife, Phyllis (Bell) Doucette of Van Buren; two sons, Philip Doucette and his wife, Stephanie, of Auburn, and Thomas Doucette of South Portland; two brothers, Bob and Bill Doucette of Van Buren; and two grandsons, Owen and Lucas Doucette of Auburn. Jim was predeceased by his father, Fortunat "Peter" Doucette, in 2008; and an infant brother in 1949. Relatives and friends may call 1-4 p.m. Sunday and 1 p.m. until time of service Monday at Ouellette-Thibault Funera! l Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 3 p .m.
