    1. Re: [DOR] DNA results
    2. Dear Jill This is a wondering enquiry, that is, I wonder if you can suggest anything with your knowledge of Dorset achieves. My son in law is named Brushett, I have traced his family from Wisbech to London (Middlesex) to a marriage at Plymouth, at St Andrews 19 Apr 1814 where a John Brushett . tailor, marries a Mary Hawkins. Their first child Mary Jane Edcombe Brushett is baptised at Stoke Damerel, Devon, 19 Feb 1815. and never seen again! Well I cant find her. This John Brushet ,a tailor ( Father named as Thomas on a much later second marriage in London) then goes to London, where the second child? Thomas Parker Brushett is baptised at Maida Vale, in 1820. No one knows where the Parker name comes from, the mother is clearly Hawkins as is named on her fourth child.. Looking though name locations, I find the the name Brushett originates? in Dorset, not Devon. but I would guess that this man makes military uniforms- from late connections, so moved where the trade was. My question is therefore, how would you go about tracing Dorset people of this period (from here in Cheshire). I am sure there are records not readily available on line. What do you think my first line of enquiry should be for Dorset records. I have tried local societies - but not had any success. thank you for reading this , June, 5347, Cheshire On Wed, Aug 2, 2017 at 2:29 AM, Jill Morley <[email protected]> wrote: > Beverly I have another man who connects to this branch - he has done a DNA > test and unfortunately he cannot connect to me and my Dorset DNA > I can pass you on to him - I am sure he will be happy to talk to you > His name is Alan ARNOLD [I can tell give you more detail privately] > > I have every single Dorset ARNOLD will and there is not one mention of Isle > of Wight? > Alan and I have been over them all - > I do list most of these wills on the OPC Dorset page under Miscellany > I have since bought more from other sources other than Dorset PRO > I did find a mention - Something like 'Styled son of Thomas Arnold of > Milton > Abbas' c1700 > this is the line is who Alan's connected to and he can't match with anyone > I wont pass your name on to him until you say > Dratts I was hoping you were one of mine > > Sincere Jill Morley > > > *************************************** > > When replying to this message, please spare a thought for your fellow list > members, and anyone searching the archives in the future.
