Hello Everyone, It has been quite some time since I have engaged with our Dorset friends and family; sadly it was before the passing of our dear friend Sue Merkle. A huge thanks to Davy for taking us forward from RootsWeb to groups.io. Having just achieved retirement, I now intend to spend more time working on my family history. My initial interest at this time is in the surnames listed above, as they relate to John Henning (born about 1622, Poxwell) x Susan Bateman (b 1625, London), which is my primary ancestor connection (I am sure there are others, TBD!) to Dorset, with subsequent emigrants to America, ultimately descending to me. I have a copy of the very impressive work by George and Virginia Jansen, which I will be using as a starting point for tracing details back to Dorset. I am sure to be posting questions to this group, to validate/explore their findings. I welcome communications with anyone with similar interests. My email is asap AT reagan DOT com.
