Hello I have been given the name of a village called Shidderton in Dorset where my Collins ancestors may have come from. I have done a look up and cannot find a place by that name. Could there have been a place by this name at one time or perhaps the name may have changed. Any help appreciated. Win

Hello Winifred, I expect it should be Shitterton which is a hamlet next to Bere Regis in Dorset. A lot of people visit it just to see the sign, as it is often on lists as one of the rudest place names in the UK!
