Hi Everyone This is my first posting to this list.. My ggg grandfather, Joseph Lucas on census returns shows his place of birth (about 1802) as Corfe Castle Dorset. The only Joseph Lucas I can find on IGI born about this time in Dorset is Joseph Legge Lucas baptised Alfpuddle Dorset in 1802. I don't think this is anywhere near Corfe Castle and I've not seen Legge in his name, so I'm assuming he's not mine. I wondered if anyone with access to Baptism records for Corfe Castle (or possibly Church Knowle) in Dorset could look to see whether there is a baptism of a Joseph Lucas. My Joseph Lucas married Mary Ann Bennett in 1832. Their children were Maria, Elizabeth, Sarah, William, John and Joseph Lucas. On a more general note, can anyone tell me how I can find out which parishes have records on IGI? Any assistance appreciated Lyn Sydney Aust
