If so, were they all checked for Pitt entries? I recently found my ancestor Charles Pitt's father's will, John Pitt vicar of Sturminster Newton, who died about 1732-1741. His wife's name was Mary. According to Alumni Oxonienses, John went to Exeter College in 1682, was born about 1664, and was the son of William of Pimperne. I'm pretty sure most of the Pitts from Sturminster Newton and Pimperne are descended from one of 3 Christopher Pitts in the area then. Is it possible there are more Pitts in the early Pimperne parish registers? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
