    3. I am seeking to make contact, and to share MAYO family history notes, with any descendant or researcher of the family of my cousin, George MAYO. George MAYO was born 1825 in Evershot, Dorset. George was a stonemason, living in Upwey, Dorset. In 1851, in Alton Pancras, Dorset, George married Ann Courtney JOLLIFFE. By the 1881 census, George 58 was a widower, lodging in Holdenhurst, Hants, with son William. George 76 died and was buried 1902 in St. Nicholas churchyard, Broadwey, Dorset. George and Ann had issue, including: 1. Tom MAYO, baptized in Upwey 1852. Tom 18 was a stonemason in Upwey for the 1871 census. 2. Harry MAYO, born and baptized in Upwey 1854. In 1881, in Portsmouth, Hants, on H.M.S. Excellent, Harry MAYO 26, unmarried, was a second captain quarter deck. In 1882, in the Isle of Wight, Harry married Ann DRINAN. By the 1891 census, Harry was a coast guard, in Shorwell, IOW. Harry and Ann lived in Freshwater, Isle of Wight, where they had three sons: George Patrick MAYO, James MAYO and John Thomas MAYO. 3. Richard MAYO, baptized in Upwey 1857. At the 1881 census, Richard MAYO, 23 unmarried, was AB Seaman, on H.M.S. Excellent, in Portsmouth, Hants. 4. Everel William MAYO, baptized in Upwey 1862. In the 1881 census, William 18 was a mason, in Holdenhurst, Hants, lodging in the household of a family called Box. 5. Mary Ann MAYO, baptized in Upwey 1865. In 1885, Mary Ann married her second cousin, Alfred James ROGERS, coalseller and gardener in Broadwey. Alfred died in Broadwey in 1926 and Mary Ann in 1953 in Weymouth. Alfred and Mary Ann had three known children: Alice Maud ROGERS, Olive Fanny ROGERS and Alfred Ray ROGERS. 6. Charles MAYO, baptized in Upwey 1867. At the 1881 census, Charles 13 dairyboy was living in the household of his sister, Mary Ann, in Upwey. 7. Fanny MAYO, baptized in Upwey 1868. In the summer of 1890, in Christchurch district, Fanny married Edwin Charles PYNE. Edwin and Fanny lived in Portsmouth, where they had two known children: Elsie M. PYNE and Stanley C. PYNE. 8. Clement John MAYO, baptized in Upwey 1869. At the 1881 census, for Upwey, Clement was in the household of his sister, Mary Ann. There were three additional known children, who all died without issue.
