I am researching my GRAY, HAYES/HAYS, CHANNING lines in Dorset, Wiltshire and Hamps. My grandmother was Annie GRAY B1881, Ashmore, she was the daughter of James GRAY B1837, Gussage All Saints, a Shepherd, and Emma CHANNING B1850, Cattistock, his second wife. She had siblings, Maria 1860, Charles 1863, by James GRAY's first wife Lovey FOOTE and then Jesse 1870, Emma Beatrice 1875, Dinah 1876, Flora "Flossie" 1884, James David 1888, with Emma GRAY/CHANNING his second wife. James GRAY's parents were Charles GRAY B1811 Dorchester, a Shepherd and Sarah HAYS C1812, Gussage All Saints. Sarah's parents were Richard HAYS C1790 of Horton with Woodlands, and Elizabeth? I have not been able to trace my GRAY line back from Charles GRAY C1811, or Richard HAYS, so far.
