I have Syms in Crewkerne but I was checking Allington parish register the other day and wrote down the Syms for the years I checked (the parish register skips 1704-16) which were 1663 to 1745 - christenings only. Thought you might appreciate them: Thomas Sims and wife "M" had son John 20 Mch 1663 John Sims had children John 6 Apr 1666 (his mother was listed as Mekiel??), William 31 May 1669, Mary 28 Aug 1670, Hester 1673 and James 25 Dec 1776 An Symes had a son Benjamin 8 jan 1720 but it was hard to read and did not say he was illeg Nickolis Syms had a son Robert 25 Dec 1719 Daniel Symes had children Joan about May 1728, An 11 Apr 1731, Sarah Jan 1732/3 and Sarah about Sep 1736 Andrew Symes had children Onisephorus 13 June 1722, Mary and Martha 20 Apr 1724 and John 23 March 1725 Ann Symes had daughter Martha June 1726 Edward Symes had son William 4 July 1731 John Syms had children Thomas 1 Nov 1785, female (couldn't read) about Sep 1788, Thomas 8 Aug 1690, Andrew Dec 1692, Onesiphorus Sep 1697, Elan (female) 13 Aug 1702 and Thomas about Oct 1716 but the father is listed as "the younger" so is probably the son of another family? John Symes had children Mary 11 June 1733, Richard 15? Aug 1736 and Martha 19 Jan 1742/3 Asther Symes md May 1740 to Martha Hallat of Netherbury Hope this helps Beverly
