Could anyone tell me where to find Fowler's Lane, Poole. I'm not finding it on any on-line maps nor google. Is it close to West Street or is it no longer? Thanks. Catherine

It is no more! It ran between West Street and West Quay Road, opposite what is now New Orchard. If you go to Google Maps it is roughly where the gap is between the left-hand side of "The Queen Mary" public house and the terrace of houses are at present. There was a public house on the corner of Fowler's Lane called the "The Old Inn" it may be the same place. Having done that and familiarised yourself with the location go to www.old-maps.co.uk and look on the 1888 Town Plans - Poole, Dorset 1:500 map where it is shown.
