Author: vanessamarshall Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.england.dor.general/110.1037.1.2.1.1.1.2.3.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Dear Penny, The following baptisms at Wareham are listed: Maria COURTNRY - 22 April 1827 (William noted as a Currier) Lavinia COURTNEY - 10 June 1832 (William noted as a Labourer) George COURTNEY - 8 January 1837 (son of Anne) Mary Eliza SPRANKLIN - 19 December 1839 Mary Ann SPRANKLIN - 25 March 1842 Edward SPRANKLIN - 25 March 1842 Elizabeth SPRANKLYN - 12 February 1845 But no baptism found for Albert I found out (while looking for some of my Isle of Wight ancestors) that some of the batches on the IGI are female only! Apparantly, it was because some of the LDS church were only interested in the female lines (because they could 'prove' descent for their practice of baptising relatives).
