BlankI am trying to find out information about my Grandparents early life in Weymouth. They are Harold Graham Allard and Margaret Allard (Nee Wright/Croftwright). They arrived in Weymouth about 1927 when they had to move from Bryanston, Blandford due to it being sold up by Lord Portman to settle Death Duties. Harold was employed as an Estate Agent for Lord Portman and Margaret worked as a nurse at the Blandford Cottage Hospital. When they moved to Weymouth they had two children Margaret Ruth and Michael Graham. They moved into 8B St Mary Street, now Marks & Spencer's. Another child was born there in 1928 Mary Elizabeth, so the premises were now too small and so they looked for larger premises to move into within the town. What I would love to know is where my Grandfather was working during this period as well as my Grandmother having her Nursing skills. She may have been a District Nurse or even midwife. He being a clerk I think had something to do with the GWR or Weymouth and Portland Railways office down on the quay. Any information at all about this family would be most appreciated.
