    3. I would like to thank Harvey for the steer towards Maiden Newton. My brother has since been to the Dorset Archives and extracted all the Mabey (plus variants) references in the parish registers. The fact that the family seem to disperse after 1709 when both parents died within a week of each other, that the father was a miller by trade and there is a brother called Bernard, makes me 99% certain this this correct family. Now I have to find John and Mary's marriage and John's baptism. Thank you Harvey.
